The Smiths Building, Marylebone

The Smiths Building, Marylebone

The Smiths Building is a property steeped in British heritage, housing Smiths Industries back in 1913. Smiths Industries were made famous for inventing the first ever speedometer – something that every car uses to this day. Much of the original architecture of the building was destroyed over the years, but architects have worked tirelessly to restore some of the old character of the property.

Whilst the outside of The Smiths Building reflects British history, the inside is far from the 1913 original style. Here you will find a little bit of everything you love about modern design. It combines contemporary and industrial styles, adding in modern and vintage furniture to complete the space. The overall feel of the inside of this building is that it’s young and light whilst still giving a nod to its overall history.

The main features of the building include:

  • A rooftop garden terrace;
  • Kitchen and dining areas throughout;
  • A gym;
  • Secure bike storage;
  • Shower facilities;
  • 24/7 CCTV.

On top of The Smiths Building, regular party hosts will find a perfect rooftop area as well as multiple meeting rooms, offices and lounge spaces for businesses to utilise. It’s the perfect space for the modern businessman or woman with all of the modern amenities you could ever need within the perfect traditional building.
